Nova Scotia is a coastal province in eastern Canada, almost completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Known for its rugged shorelines, scenic fishing villages, and rich maritime history, Nova Scotia has over 13,000 kilometres of coastline. The province includes the mainland and Cape Breton Island, which is famous for its beautiful Cabot Trail and rolling highlands. Nova Scotia experiences four distinct seasons, with cool summers, colorful autumns, cold winters, and mild springs compared to much of Canada.
The province’s capital city, Halifax, is an important cultural and economic center known for its historic waterfront, universities, and busy port. Nova Scotia’s economy has traditionally depended on fishing, shipbuilding, and natural resources, but today also includes tourism, technology, and education. The province has a strong cultural heritage influenced by Mi’kmaq Indigenous peoples, Acadian settlers, and Scottish immigrants, which can be seen in its festivals, music, and traditions. Nova Scotia is known for its friendly communities, natural beauty, and deep connection to the sea.
